As part of the forum and the simul+ workshop on digitalization, smart production, and smart region & smart city, participants can present themselves and gain insights into potential areas of cooperation with Silesian partners.
The Voivodeship of Silesia, whose capital is Katowice, was recently awarded by the European Committee of the Regions for its outstanding and innovative entrepreneurial strategy plan entitled "European Entrepreneurial Region". Silesia is the most industrialized region in Poland and an important center of heavy industry. Through structural reforms, a deep modernization of various economic sectors has been initiated and the development of a knowledge-based economy has been promoted, which is based on close links between universities, research and development centers, and local companies. Therefore, Silesia offers itself as an interesting partner for Saxony.
The planned simul+ workshop will complement the future forum, which is being held on the initiative of Silesian Marshal Jakub Chełstowski, on the topics of digitalization, smart production, and smart region & smart city. The trend towards automation is becoming stronger and stronger in the Polish industry and is driven by special initiatives, especially in Silesia. The "Green Silesia" strategy also supports the transition to a green economy in the city and countryside.
