AXIS² - BOT – The reliable 2D shuttle

The AXIS² - BOT is the system’s central transport element. As an intelligent shuttle, it moves freely in two directions within a single plane and can flexibly load and unload pallets. Thanks to its robust construction and high load capacity, it can handle a wide variety of requirements and is designed for continuous operation under a wide range of warehouse conditions. Intelligent driving strategies and reliable load control ensure high availability and process reliability.

AXIS² - CORE – The central control intelligence

The AXIS² - CORE software component is based on our powerful Warehouse Pilot platform. It handles all of the system’s control and management processes – from shuttle routing to comprehensive warehouse management – and consists of three interlinked modules:

Warehouse Control System (WCS): The software core with route management, deadlock prevention, energy management and a web-based user interface.

Warehouse Executive System (WES): The extension featuring powerful storage location management with flexible zone allocation and dashboards for data analysis.

Warehouse Management System (WMS): The turnkey solution with comprehensive item management and integration of picking processes.

Developed jointly: Mechanical engineering meets software expertise

The AXIS² system originated from close development cooperation between DAMBACH Lagersysteme and iFD GmbH. DAMBACH was looking for a high-performance software platform to control a newly developed, freely movable 2D pallet shuttle system. Our goal: an intelligent control system that integrates seamlessly with the mechanics and manages both material flow and warehouse management efficiently, flexibly and with future-proof capabilities.

The result of this collaboration is the AXIS² - SYSTEM – a powerful combination of 50 years of mechanical engineering excellence and over 30 years of intralogistics software expertise.

What is the AXIS² - SYSTEM?

AXIS² is an innovative, automated storage system for multi-depth pallet storage. It consists of two central components: the freely manoeuvrable 2D shuttle AXIS² - BOT and the intelligent control system AXIS² - CORE. The combination of high-performance mechanics and intelligent software enables particularly high-density storage whilst offering high flexibility and access speed. AXIS² is particularly suitable for industries with high throughput, varying product types and limited space – even under demanding conditions such as deep-freeze warehouses.
