iFD supports charity run
As a company, iFD GmbH is not only part of the business community but also of society, and therefore has a social responsibility to fulfil. For many years, this has enabled the company to support social and cultural institutions.
For the first time, a sports team from iFD GmbH took part in this year’s charity event ‘Running Against Cancer’. This event aims to raise awareness of the disease and support affected families. At this event, which is unique in Germany, volunteers, charity teams and donors came together to show their solidarity with those affected and their families.
The 12-strong iFD running team took to the starting line alongside 1,300 other runners in temperatures of up to 35 °C, achieving a fantastic feat, setting an example and playing an active part in the fight against cancer. In total, a gruelling 340 laps were completed on the university sports field – an impressive 136 kilometres were covered in around two hours.
Kay Erkmann, Managing Director of iFD GmbH, is deeply committed to the causes of health promotion, social engagement and team building. “For every lap, iFD GmbH will contribute €5.00 to this project,” said Erkmann in an interview.
In summary, through its active participation, iFD was able to raise a total of €1,700.00, which will benefit the Sächsische Krebsgesellschaft e.V. Last year, the donations were invested in sports programmes for children and young people with cancer, as well as family weekends for children and parents affected by cancer.
