iFD WarehousePilot coordinates the flow of materials

A leading food manufacturer is currently modernising its automated cold store at a site in the Netherlands, relying on our latest software solution, WarehousePilot 7.0. The company has been in operation since the 1990s; it has grown from a family business and now produces frozen baked goods on highly automated production lines with several hundred employees.

The company was already a customer. As part of the new project, the existing, older system landscape was fully migrated to the current version of WarehousePilot. The cold store itself operates fully automatically: A single-aisle, multi-deep racking system handles the storage and retrieval of pallets via an automated storage and retrieval machine. In addition, a pallet conveyor system ensures a smooth flow of materials. The automated storage and retrieval machine is equipped with two load handling devices, each containing a chain conveyor and the technology for shuttle transport. Both units work closely together to move pallets efficiently and reliably.

With WarehousePilot 7.0, the operator gains a modern, long-term scalable platform for material flow control and system visualisation. The modular system can be flexibly expanded and adapted to new or modified processes with minimal effort.

The integrated, customised visualisation forms the central information interface and provides all relevant data for optimal and transparent plant operation.
