iFD modernises the shelving warehouse at LTS Nordwest GmbH in Nordenham

Logo Lts

Founded in 2005, LTS Nordwest GmbH is a full-service logistics provider offering its customers bespoke, end-to-end solutions across the supply chain. As a service provider to the aviation industry and an operator of materials management centres, it is essential to ensure processes that are consistently flexible, fast and of the highest quality. Efficient LEAN logistics, achieved through state-of-the-art technology and excellent IT solutions, are the key factors behind LTS’s success. That is why its primary objective is to continuously optimise its warehouse technology and keep it at the cutting edge of innovation. In order to continue delivering logistics processes with the highest quality, efficiency and flexibility, LTS Nordwest GmbH decided in February of this year to modernise its shelf warehouse at the Nordenham site.

The project is being managed by Telogs GmbH – the retrofit experts – acting as the main contractor. In their modernisation projects, they offer the full spectrum of services, from IT modernisation and control system upgrades to complete refurbishment, including the replacement and expansion of mechanical and electronic assemblies.

iFD GmbH was awarded the contract to modernise the material flow control system for the existing 4-aisle, automated shelf warehouse. In the pre-zone of the shelf warehouse, there are 8 picking stations on 2 levels, each connected to the automated warehouse via a conveyor loop. The iFD-MFCS is being used as the software system for the new material flow control and system visualisation. This will enable cross-docking transport journeys between the two levels of the picking stations in future, as well as monitoring of the capacities of the buffer and picking stations, including their optimised consideration in the control of material flows.

The modernisation of the facility is planned in two phases. In the first phase of the conversion, the iFD-MFCS, the new Telogs conveyor control system and the new safety technology will be commissioned. In a second phase of the conversion, the controls for the stacker cranes will be renewed – step by step, aisle by aisle.

In this project, Telogs and iFD are combining their logistics expertise and years of experience to ensure that process design at LTS Nordwest GmbH remains cost-optimised and efficient.

We would like to thank you for the trust placed in us and look forward to implementing this project together.
