State Secretary Stefan Brangs visits the iFD
Continuous development, dedicated research and the targeted improvement of concepts and products are the keys to the success of our software systems, which provide the ideal logistics solution for a wide range of national and international customers.
On 6 August, State Secretary Stefan Brangs also saw for himself the innovative strength of iFD. During the visit, iFD presented current research projects and gave an impression of the software and its diverse fields of application.
Naturally, Stefan Brangs did not miss the opportunity to test one or two developments himself. For instance, the data glasses, which support logistics staff in tasks such as order picking using augmented reality, were put through their paces.
An example of the use of iFD solutions in an Industry 4.0 environment was vividly demonstrated on a haptic board, which illustrated various possibilities for optimising transport, such as integration with production machinery. Managing Director Kay Erkmann also presented the FTF ‘Hubert’, which was developed as part of a research project focusing on human-machine collaboration.
The event concluded with a discussion on future challenges facing the logistics sector. Furthermore, the State Secretary signalled the SMWA’s willingness to support further innovative projects.
