Gramß Ltd.

Gramß GmbH is a manufacturer of plastic items that are manufactured using the injection moulding process. The company was founded in 1989 in Tettau, northern Bavaria, and mainly produces for the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food industries.

With the growth in recent years, the halls of the location in the Fichtig industrial park have become increasingly cramped. Logistics had to reduce their storage areas and at the same time handle increasing sales of goods. For this reason, the family business decided on the largest single investment in the company's history. As part of the expansion of the existing logistics, a new warehouse with adjacent production was built in nearby Kleintettau. In this context, the introduction of a new warehouse management system was necessary. The system implementation is intended to optimise and simplify the existing processes and increase transparency within intralogistics. In addition, the aim of the project was to improve the storage structures through automatic storage space allocation.

The iFD WMS (warehouse management and control system) was used to implement the project. The system manages the warehouse with around 5,000 storage locations and has an interface to the ERP system and Optispeed software from Still, which is responsible for controlling the semi-automated narrow-aisle trucks. The goods are sent to the customers via a loading area with 4 truck ramps.

Warehouse Pilot

The iFD WarehousePilot platform integrateswarehouse management, realising its full potential when combined with material flow control and forklift guidance systems.

The iFD Warehouse Pilot platform connects specialised systems to form an integrated end-to-end solution for intralogistics. Existing systems can be upgraded step by step without disrupting operations

This integrated architecture does not result in isolated individual solutions, but rather in consistent control logic across the entire operation.

  • WarehousePilot Store

Warehouse management forms the data and process layer of intralogistics. It creates transparency regarding inventory, orders, and processes, and ensures that information is available where it is needed.
