KOMSA Kommunikation Sachsen AG implemented a forklift guidance system including a warehouse management module for managing a high-bay warehouse with an interface to a semi-automatic narrow-aisle forklift.

The SLS warehouse management module handles space management and process optimisation for the entire warehouse. The SLS calculates the optimal storage location based on the size and weight of the pallet.
The approach is automated by the VNA navigation system, which receives the approach coordinates from the iFD-SLS via an interface. All picking orders are immediately posted online.
To increase performance, as many double cycles as possible are formed in the narrow aisle forklift area, and transport orders are processed with regard to short distances and minimisation of aisle changes.

The SLS thus achieves a significant optimisation of travel distances.

In addition to space management, the SLS also handles automatic replenishment in the picking zones and serial number management.
