Steyr Automotive Limited Company

Material flow control and warehouse management for a high-bay warehouse with 3 aisles, 8 storage and retrieval machines, connected goods receipt and picking stations as well as automatic conveyor systems. The warehouse is divided into 7 logical modules and is used to supply the paint shop at the Steyr site in the correct sequence, where all parts for the entire MAN Group are painted.

A customer-specific ERP system is used as the higher-level system. The special feature of the system is the complex control of the stacker cranes, which results from the modular structure of the high-bay warehouse. The picking stations are supplied according to the production sequence via lifters and a distribution trolley. The formation and compliance with the strict picking sequence based on the production sequence is carried out by the MFCS of the iFD.

In addition, iFD's own visualisation integrated into the MFCS is used. The visualisation enables a central overview of the system without the use of additional software. It offers the user all the information they need to react flexibly to different system situations and the option of making adjustments directly from the visualisation.
